UPHIA Mobilization Strengthens in Namisindwa District, Eastern Uganda
Local leaders pledge full support as survey teams engage communities in the 4th Enumeration Area.
The Uganda Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (UPHIA) is winning strong community support in Eastern Uganda, where mobilization efforts are helping to prepare villages for the ongoing national health survey.
In Namisindwa District, the community leader welcomed the UPHIA team and hailed the Ministry of Health for bringing the exercise to their community. He assured the team that residents were fully mobilized and ready to participate, describing the survey as a vital step in improving access to health services.
Regional Mobilization Coordinator Gilean Nandawula, who is overseeing activities in the 4th Enumeration Area, praised the cooperation of local leaders and residents. "Mobilization has been smooth and productive, with leaders playing an active role in encouraging their people to embrace UPHIA," she said.
Mobilization committee member Melody Kukundakwe added that communities had received the teams with excitement. She noted that residents expressed gratitude to the government, through the Ministry of Health, for prioritizing their wellbeing and bringing health services closer to them.
UPHIA continues to showcase the power of partnership between government, health professionals, and communities, with Eastern Uganda standing out as a strong example of effective mobilization and nationwide commitment to better health.
